Synopsis

Lioness and personal security to the stars, Alexa Milan doesn’t do romance. But when she meets her latest job, she’s unsure how to proceed. The sexy geeky scientist is making her girl parts tingle and her heart do flip flops. How’s she supposed to focus on shooting the bad guys when it takes all her concentration to stop herself from tearing tall, pale and geeky’s clothes off and riding him on his lab table?

Zeke Tristone has always hated being the weak guy. Family genetics cursed him, but a near-death experience allowed him to change his future. Now he’s big, strong and alpha. He also has the biggest hard-on for Alexa. Getting her naked is at the top of his to-do list, along with finding clothes that fit.

Running from the bad guys almost gets Zeke killed, but Alexa and four needles to his neck keep him alive. Now he’s got more than big muscles to worry about. The dangerous animals inside him want her more than their next meal, but he’s holding back. He needs to ensure her safety from others…and himself.

Alexa Milan growled at the slice on her new Gucci leather jacket. Fucking hell. She wrapped her fingers around the brunette’s throat and tossed her against the wall. Seeing that the woman was a shifter, too, Alexa wasn’t worried about hurting her. Yet.

“I already told you he’s not available unless you have a pass.” She stepped back against the dressing room door with a tacky yellow star with Tony’s name on it.

The brunette’s irises glowed bright gold with the savage inner fire of her wolf. Alexa’s eyes skimmed both sides of the backstage hall making sure no humans were around. That was the last thing she needed—humans seeing proof of shifters behaving badly.

Luckily, everyone was on stage striking the set and packing for the next show tomorrow night.

“Fuck you and your pass. Tony and I dated for months. We haven’t even officially broken up. He’ll make time to see me,” the woman said.

Alexa rolled her eyes, folded her arms over her chest, and shook her head, her ponytail swinging side to side. “You can’t seem to get it through your head, can you? He doesn’t want you, lady. Have some fucking dignity and get on with your life.”

The words seemed to shock the woman. Alexa didn’t get the obsession women had with the singer. Tony wasn’t even nice. He partied hard, slept with everything that moved, and even did drugs. He might not be a shifter, but he obviously loved shifter females judging from the brunette in front of her. Tony liked the most beautiful women and he wasn’t willing to settle down at the height of his career. The more famous he got, the worse his personality became. It was some sad shit.

A pang of sadness hit Alexa for the woman, but she quickly buried the emotion. She was beautiful. Tall, leggy with the type of tan Alexa would kill for. Alexa had that pale skin that sun only made beet red. A red that hurt the eyes, it looked so painful to touch. Then her skin would go back to pale.

The woman was dressed in the most expensive designer clothes, her makeup and hair impeccable, and her body was a work of art. But Tony had been clear not to let her in. Alexa was only doing her job. But fuck this, she wasn’t getting paid to get her own clothes torn up.

“He loves me,” the brunette said, her words broken and her eyes filling with moisture. Ah, fuck. Alexa didn’t do tears. She hated that shit. It made her uncomfortable and she wasn’t sure how to comfort others. She’d learned to hide her emotions a long time ago. It wasn’t easy in a community of shifters.

“Listen, maybe if you and he are really meant to be, he’ll call you and everything will work itself out. Right now, he’s just finished a show and he’s stressed out,” she lied, knowing full well Tony was partying it up in his room with at least six females in some kind of weird twister orgy.

The woman nodded and seemed to finally understand she wasn’t getting into Tony’s room. Alexa almost sighed in relief, but it was short lived. The changing room door opened, and Tony spilled out with three females naked from the waist up, his pants unzipped, and the stench of smoke, liquor, and shame all rolled around them.

“Ah, fuck,” she muttered.

“What the fuck are you doing here, Marie?” Tony spat. “I’m done with you. I told you no woman is going to tie me up. Especially not a country bumpkin that’s got nothing to her but her inheritance. You’re worthless.”

Alexa’s head snapped to glare at Tony. “You need to calm down, Tony. She was just leaving.”

The golden glow in Marie’s eyes lit brightly. “I went to college, Tony. I have an education.”

Tony sputtered a laugh. “You’re a fucking hairdresser, Marie. I can’t be with a hairdresser.”

Alexa’s temper, the one her cousin Nick told her to keep in check, made itself present. “You need to shut the fuck up, Tony. An education is an education.”

“Shut up, bitch,” Tony slurred. “I don’t pay you to think or give me your opinion.”

Don’t kill the client. Don’t kill the client. Don’t kill the client. Nick would be pissed. Alexa could get blood on her Gucci jacket and that would be bad. Did blood come out of leather? She glanced down at her Louboutin heels. Yeah, those could get blood on them, too. It would probably upset her family if she killed a client.

“How could you do this to me, Tony?” Marie asked, her voice rough with her animal.

Alexa had to give it to her. The woman had strength. She still hadn’t reached for pretty boy Tony to whoop his ass. That gave her points in Alexa’s book.

“Bitch, you’re nobody and just because you gave me some pussy isn’t going to turn you into somebody. Pussy’s pussy. I’ll take it from any of you hos.”

The women hanging on to Tony suddenly pulled away and frowned. He’d pretty much just dissed them, too.

“Get the fuck out of here, Marie. I don’t want to see your ugly face again.”

Marie’s growl was low but seriously threatening and Alexa had to say, the fact she still hadn’t killed Tony spoke highly of her self-control.

“Tony,” Alexa said softly, “I’d quit while ahead if I were you.”

She curled her fingers into fists, holding her lioness in check, fighting the urge to deck the dumb-ass human. Humans were so stupid at times. They forgot that money wouldn’t stop a shifter from tearing them limb from limb.

“I told you to shut the fuck up, bitch.”
